Unless illegals are being paid in cash under the table then I don’t see how there is a tax problem. In fact it is the other way around. Most companies may employ people with SS cards that look like the real thing. Such employed individuals will have taxes taken out of their paychecks and all the rest of the other deductions. They will never claim an IT refund because they cannot. Social Security benefits because it does not have to be paid to these individuals when they age and leave the work force. So what is the fuss about? I agree with DD. And if there are unemployed citizens looking for jobs at the same rate of pay why don’t they take the jobs offered. They don’t because they are only too happy with food stamps.

“DD”, I couldn’t agree with you more! It’s like taking blood pressure medicine. Your 120/80 reading might look good to those checking your pressure and it actually does reduce the chances of damage to your brain, heart and kidneys, but it doesn’t begin to touch the source of the problem. But we shouldn’t be surprised by a government (both Republicans & Democrats) that doesn’t have the will to actually “FIX” the immigration problem. If the symptons can be controlled long enough, then we start to believe that everything is okay.

aah, yes… but companies have money and illegals don’t. If you can’t collect taxes from illegals then how else to raise revenues to pay for them? “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” We are today closer to that goal than Karl Marx ever dreamed.

Leave it to the feds for the private sector to do all their dirty work. Yes, if they had a better system of allowing them the proper way to enter into the country they would not be entering illegally. The feds have made it so difficult for them to enter the country and so hard for the employer to identify who is legal or illegal. This battle starts at the borders and the system/process they are using to allow immigrants into this country.

The “pop heard ’round the world” will be when the government finally pulls their heads out of the sand and realizes this isn’t just an employer faulted problem. Who allowed them into the country? Leave it to the government to allow them into the country, provide them with all kinds of social programs, allow ACORN to register them to vote, and then penalize companies for giving them jobs.
