In answer to mary B — You can’t expect the IRS/Feds to make 2 logical responses at the same time, can you? I’m sure that will be another issue for another time.

I thought this issue was only for government employees. I don’t think it applies to private work places or public institutions.

I would be interested to know if this also covers company payment of Internet services for employees who need to be able to log in to the company on line from home. Similar technology, but different usage.
