Also on the menu: Child labor law violations.
Huddle House restaurants serve the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southwest, and now the chain has been served with a fine for failing to pay 128 of its employees proper wages, according to a report by The Associated Press.
During an investigation, federal authorities discovered the employees were either not paid the minimum wage or did not receive proper overtime pay.
Result: Restaurants in Georgia, Missouri and West Virginia must pay more than $60,000 in fines and back pay to the underpaid employees.
In addition, during the investigation, authorities discovered a 15-year-old employee was working more hours than legally allowed for someone under the age of 18.
