HR’s funny side: This just in – drunk guys act stupid

You’ll never guess what research out of one university revealed about alcohol and sexual harassment.

Now, don’t get us wrong. We don’t think alcohol abuse is one bit funny. Nor is sexual harassment.

Some of the studies on those topics are sort of amusing, however.

For instance, one study tells us – hold on to your hat – guys who get drunk tend to be more aggressive toward women.

Researchers looked at events at 1,300 workplaces and learned that heavy alcohol consumption by men tends to increase the incidence of their “hitting on” women. In fact, the most common workplace pick-up line was, “Hey, baby, how’d you like to see my paycheck?” (OK, we admit we made up the last part.)

Two observations

Just a guess here, but if researchers had to observe 1,300 events to learn that drunk guys act stupid around women, those researchers need to get out more on Saturday nights.

Oh, and another thing. From the data provided, should we assume that researchers had no problem finding 1,300 places of employment where male workers were drunk? And exactly how do you conduct such research? We guess by walking up to the HR manager and saying, “Hey, can you direct us to your drunk workers — men only?”

Hey; Show me where those jobs are.. I think it would be hilarious to sit around and “judge” co-workers who get drunk, of course I would want a pitcher of Margaritas to make the job a little easier.
