I barely have time for a true social life let alone a virtual one. I do have a facebook page but I rarely update it. I find it repulsive that people talk on the phone in the restroom let alone Tweet. What could be so critical that you need to multitask when on the throne, when driving? Please take a step back. Technology is great, but it should rule us.

Don't be afraid to get with the times Joyce. I would never log on to any social networking site while at work and going on while your in the bathroom just seem like your desperate for attention. On the other hand, I see pictures and chat with relatives and friends every day that I would have only seen on the holidays or a couple times a year in the past. Family in the military and stationed overseas? We get a daily updated on how they are doing.

I prefer to stay away from all the social networking sites. If I care about someone enough to want to contact them, I'll pick up the phone. I've never used Twitter, as MMAN said, it really seems foolish. I guess I'm just an old fashioned girl, I even prefer a cell phone that simply rings or dials and lets me talk. I really did enjoy the "old days" when we actually had to make an effort to get updates about friends and family.

Texting, twittering all this foolishness is an addiction and people need help. Seems like people would just be in a buzzing stupor if they couldn't have their twitter and all that jazz. I would really like to see just how people would cope if all their communications were cut off- no twitter, no texting, no facebook no nothing. What a funny sight to see.

I have not observed anyone using Twitter while at their desk...not to say it hasn't been done. However, I do know of one individual that lost his phone in the toilet bowl while attempting to send out a tweet from the throne. Ooops!
