TV show leads to workers’ comp bust

You can collect tens of thousands of dollars in workers’ comp or you can perform hard labor in a reality show about the logging industry, but you can’t do both.

While James Smith was being filmed running his logging business in Florida for the reality show “Ax Men,” he was allegedly collecting $50,000 worth of workers’ comp benefits from the state of Washington.

Unfortunately for Smith, one “Ax Men” viewer spends his days as a state investigator. And as you can imagine, that investigator was not pleased to see Smith operating heavy equipment to pull logs from a river when he tuned in to the show.

Smith’s workers’ comp benefits have been cut while he awaits trial. He’s facing 17 charges of theft.

If guilty, I hope he serves major prison time for grand larceny form the tax payors of the state of Washington.

I would wager this kind of thing happens quite often.

Lol this is funny. I hope this guy gets found guilty (hard to prove that he is innocent in my opinion).
