He could have claimed his sidewalk was a demonstration project. But he didn’t, and now Anderson, IN, Assistant Streets Commissioner Darryl Rensel is out of a job.
Rensel’s neighbors complained when the sidewalk in front of his home was replaced. Nowhere else on the street was sidewalk work done.
Rensel is quoted in the Indianapolis Star as saying that more work would be done on his street’s sidewalks after another project was completed.
The Board of Public Works investigated the neighbors’ complaints. Rensel’s firing followed, although the Board’s chairman refused to comment on the investigation.
