We’ve been reading a lot lately about how the Internet can create big-time headaches for employers. So it’s kind of refreshing to run across a case where the employee’s the one who ends up embarrassed.
Recently, an employee of a British company added her boss as a Facebook “friend.”
That minor fact either slipped her mind, or she’d decided she might enjoy a different line of work.
Her entry: “OMG I hate my job! My boss is a totally pervy wanker always making me do (expletive) stuff to (expletive) me off!”
Her boss, that demanding pervy wanker (we’re unfamiliar with British slang, but somehow “pervy wanker” doesn’t sound like a compliment), happened to read said entry.
His reply: “I guess you forgot about adding me on here? … That (expletive) stuff is called your ‘job’ … Don’t bother coming in tomorrow. And yes, I’m serious.”
