Bumbo has been clowning around for half a century, and at age 90 he thinks it may be time to hang up his umbrella hat.
Bumbo, aka Andy Beyer of Santa Ana, CA, plays at birthday parties on weekends and takes his small merry-go-round through poor neighborhoods on weekdays.
And talk about repeat business: Bumbo just performed at a 50th birthday party for a man he entertained on his 5th birthday!
Beyer considered retirement after a recent bout of pneumonia forced him to take a break from clowning.
He’s still unsure about whether he’s going to retire, according to wire service reports. “You take life as it comes, I guess,” he said recently.
Now, when you tell an HR colleague about Bumbo, read the headline from this story, followed by, “Gee, I didn’t know you were still working.”
