Just when you think you’ve heard everything … A janitorial and construction service in Dallas has settled a sex harassment case after a female employee claimed that, among other things, company officials coaxed her into a sham marriage.
The EEOC claimed the woman endured inappropriate comments, unwanted touching and other indignities.
But here’s the topper: The agency also claimed company management pressured women to enter into fraudulent marriages with foreign nationals they didn’t know to help the men gain U.S. citizenship so they could work at the firm.
The woman filed suit, and the firm settled. Final price tag for this bizarre case: $27,500.
