No one in HR likes to deal with a situation involving abuse of power.
Unfortunately, that’s what happened recently within the Dallas, PA, police department.
Former part-time officer Steven Klinger pulled over a woman while he was off duty — just to give her his phone number.
Klinger is off the force and will spend 30 days in jail for official oppression — in other words, acting outside his authority as an officer.
Police say he used red and blue lights mounted on the dashboard of his pickup truck to pull over the woman. She became suspicious when Klinger asked her if she was married or had a boyfriend.
Klinger was also sentenced to an additional three days in jail for a separate incident — driving drunk. His blood-alcohol level was .40, which is five times the legal limit.
