Heads up: The best and the brightest are going to get harder to find.
OK, maybe that’s a tad premature. But the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) says that the number of people applying for unemployment benefits has dropped to its lowest level since 2008.
And that’s a sign the job market’s loosening up — which means increased competition for talent.
The economists say that if less than 425,000 people are applying for unemployment over a month’s time, the country’s enjoying modest job growth. Just under 390,000 people applied for the benefits last month.
