As expected, a bill repealing the healthcare reform law was defeated in the Senate. But the Senate did pass a measure that’s good news for employers.
The Senate approved an amendment to the reform law that would repeal expanded 1099 reporting requirements — a new burden that had business groups howling in protest.
The provision requires companies to report all supply purchases of $600 or greater from one vendor. It would take effect in 2012.
The measure must now go to the House, where its passage is expected.
