New research shows many companies aren’t doing enough to keep star employees sticking around.
Almost half (47%) of top performing employees are actively looking for new jobs (browsing ads, sending resumes, going on interviews, etc.), according to a survey by Leadership IQ.
On the flip side, just 18% of low performers are doing the same, as are 25% of the employees classified as “middle performers.”
About 16,000 people were surveyed and placed into performance categories based on data about their previous performance reviews.
What’s it mean for employers? Likely that a lot of them need to put more effort into identifying top performers and focusing retention efforts accordingly.
