Recruiting forecast for this summer: Fewer companies will be hiring.
That’s the word from a report by the Conference Board, based on the number of job ads currently posted online.
According to the report, the numbers went down by 579,000 since May of last year. Almost all parts of the country, as well as all industries, saw a decline.
One exception to the latter is health care. Those workers appear to be in the highest demand, based on the number of jobs advertised.
The Board expects hiring to stay sluggish throughout the summer.
