How much do managers at your company know about their employees? Would they know if one was living at work?
A maintenance man’s supervisor says he didn’t know an employee was living in a paint shed on the grounds of the Rockland Psychiatric Center in New York.
After hearing that, you might think the man couldn’t find a place to live on his salary.
But Henry Logue made over $100K per year and owned a house with his wife 15 minutes from work.
Logue moved a microwave and refrigerator into the paint shed. He even had his mail delivered there. Hospital authorities conducted an investigation only after they received a tip Logue was living there.
Now he’s being charged $2,500 for the time he lived there. After being kicked out of the shed he’s living at his home with his wife.
You’ve gotta admit there’d be no one better suited than a maintenance man to turn a paint shed into a space where you could live.
It kinda reminds us of the episode of Seinfeld when George hired Jerry’s contractor to “renovate” the space under his desk so he could take naps there.
