A man in the impoverished Bihar state in India ordered the murder of his father to get his government job. The man was frustrated by his failed attempts to find employment.
The man planned to claim his father’s job on the ground that he died while still at work.
The son paid a relative about $2,500 to carry out the crime one day before his father was set to retire, according to wire service reports.
The victim worked as a low-ranking employee at a government office.
Police say the son told them he would have got the job on “compassionate grounds” after his father’s murder.
