Gerald Courtney, an assistant principal at a school in San Francisco, has been arrested on suspicion of pimping and prostitution.
Police charged Courtney and a woman with running two brothels.
The San Francisco school district says Courtney has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. No minors or students of other school officials were involved in the alleged prostitution ring, according to police.
Police allege Courtney used his name to obtain apartment leases where prostitution was being run.
