When HR provides training materials to managers to use with their employees, there’s a reason.
You certainly wouldn’t want 7 different managers giving 7 different handouts and conducting the training in 7 different ways.
A probation officer in Texas learned the hard way that employers often don’t appreciate it when trainers use their own training handouts.
The unidentified officer was fired after he allegedly handed out controversial cartoons as part of a CPR and first aid training course, according to KPRC-TV. The cartons were supposedly crude and offensive.
Harris County, which employed the officer, has reminded all other trainers to follow the standard curriculum.
The officer allegedly handed out cartoons that were to encourage employees to wash their hands more often.
One example: “During an hour at a municipal pool you will ingest 1/12 liter of urine.”
Eeww.
Stick to the training materials
