These days, all companies are trying to do more with less. Despite some concern about stretching staffs too thin, a recent survey suggests employees are fine with it.
Nearly half of employees (46% of women and 49% of men) wish they were more challenged in their jobs, according to a recent survey by Accenture.
That means many workers are actually looking to do more — which is fortunate considering the understaffed state many companies are in right now.
And they’re not just bored with their work — 58% of employees say they want to develop new skills and take on more duties to stay competitive in the current marketplace.
What it means for managers: Companies can get the most out of slim staffing budgets by identifying employees who want more responsibility — and have the skills to handle it — and giving it to them.
