Dress-down or dress-up days can be a fun morale booster for employees. But what one overseas company did went a lot further than casual Friday or a Hawaiian shirt day.
Hey! Our underwear company just sold a huge number of camisoles in only two months! How do we celebrate? How about, “Wear your camisole to work day!”
Yeah, it does have lawsuit-waiting-to-happen written all over it. But somehow, Audrey Underwear in Taiwan did it anyway, and got 90% of female workers to join in.
Let’s see. There were 500 women working in the firm’s headquarters. So that is about 450 wearing camisoles to work all on one day.
Did they get any work done?
And there’s an added employee benefit, apparently. One worker, Zhang Yufeng, a mother of two, said she’d been on a strict diet to get ready for the day.
See! A ready-made wellness program.
And get this: Employment lawyers said there wasn’t anything illegal about camisole day if it was voluntary.
