A Cincinnati, OH, prosecutor, fired after he was caught on security cameras walking around nude at night in the government building where he worked, says that’s all in the past.
Now, Scott Blauvelt wants his job back.
And he has the opinion of a judge in his corner.
The city’s Law Director fired Blauvelt because his actions destroyed public confidence in him and put the city government in a bad light.
But a judge recently ruled that Blauvelt is entitled to civil-service job protection.
That means he can request a civil-service panel to consider whether to rehire him.
The city’s Law Director says she’ll appeal the ruling to a higher court.
Blauvelt’s lawyer says his client has overcome the mental problems that precipitated his odd behavior. Blauvelt claims the nude walk that got him fired was caused by medication and a brain injury suffered in a car crash.
