Seem like a lot of your employees are taking vacation this month? There’s a reason for that.
Nearly half (46%) of employees failed to take all their vacation time in 2010, according to an online poll of 627 workers conducted by Right Management.
The picture’s not as grim as it was, however. Researchers noted 2010 is an improvement over a year ago – in the same poll conducted last year, 66% of staff members hadn’t used all their vacation.
It’s no secret that taking a vacation can positively affect work-life balance and wellness, but heavier workloads and fears of job insecurity have prevented many employees from taking their earned vacation time.
So a little relaxation over the holidays isn’t a bad thing.
