Irony alert: A chain of retail stores that caters to the mothers of small children has gotten in trouble with the feds for discriminating against a pregnant woman.
Happy Days Children’s Wear recently settled a lawsuit with an employee who claimed she was fired after she told her firm she was pregnant.
The employee, who’d worked at the company for seven years, alleged that her employer gave multiple and inconsistent explanations for firing her.
In addition to a $22,500 settlement, the company must distribute a non-discrimination policy and conduct anti-bias training for all employees and managers.
