How Petco’s Benefits Team Delivered a Surprising Win Their Employees Noticed
For most HR leaders, vision care is a line item, not a lever. Here is what happens when you treat it like one.
Every benefits leader is dealing with the same pressure right now. Medical costs are climbing, employees are feeling it, and leadership is expecting a win without a major lift. The moves that check all three boxes are rare, but they do exist.
For instance, when Petco deployed XP Health nationwide, 4 in 10 employees got premium glasses, frames, lenses, and coatings for $0. Patrycja Lenkin, Petco’s Senior Director of Employee Benefits, is joining us to share how they did it and what it would take to get the same result for your workforce.
Patrycja did not set out to overhaul vision care. She was looking for convenience, cost relief, and a rollout she could execute across a large, distributed workforce. What she found was a benefit upgrade employees noticed on their own, without a campaign to tell them to.
In this session Patrycja will sit down with XP Health CEO Antonio Moraes to tell the full story, from the beginning. She’ll uncover what the problem was, how she evaluated her options, what her concerns were going into implementation, and what she knows now that she did not know then.
What You Will Hear:
- What drove Petco to look at vision care in the first place, and why traditional carriers were not solving it
- How Patrycja built the internal case and what pushback she had to navigate
- What the rollout looked like across a national workforce, including the things that did not go perfectly
- How employees responded, what the early data showed, and where the program stands today
- What she would tell any HR leader who is weighing a similar move and not sure it is worth the effort
Who This Is For:
The questions Patrycja was asking 18 months ago are the same ones a lot of HR leaders are asking right now. They’re wondering whether a move like this is worth the effort, what it takes to get it through internally, and whether employees will notice. This session answers all three.
If you are looking for a lower-risk move that delivers real cost relief for employees and a story you can bring to leadership, this is the session.
