‘Fess up, now: You checked your work e-mail over the holiday, didn’t you?
Check the results of this recent survey:
- 79% of U.S. employees say they’ve received work-related e-mails on holidays 59% said they’d be checking their e-mails this holiday season
- Of those, 28% said they’ll be checking their messages multiple times during the day
- 41% of those who received work e-mails from co-workers or clients while they were off for the holidays said they were either annoyed, frustrated or resentful.
Here’s our favorite result: 19% of the respondents said they were thankful for the distraction of work e-mails during the holidays. So much for happy holiday family gatherings.
The survey was conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Xobni, a company that develops enhancement software for the Microsoft Outlook e-mail program.
