That’s why Carhartt, the popular workwear and outdoor apparel brand, partnered with virtual care leader, Teladoc Health, to achieve measurable improvements in diabetes, hypertension, weight management, and mental wellness.
More than durable workwear
Carhartt is known for building long-lasting gear, and the company is applying that same philosophy to its employees, aiming to keep its people healthy, resilient, and productive.
In partnership with Teladoc Health, it rolled out a comprehensive chronic condition management program for associates and their families. To achieve high early adoption and enrollment in the program, Carhartt hosted on-site roadshows and leveraged the Teladoc Health Optimal Engagement Plan, a personalized outreach journey powered by AI.
The early engagement paid off:
- 98% active engagement among members enrolled in the program to support chronic conditions
- 3,477 pounds lost through weight management support
- 91% diabetes control rate after six months of program engagement
- 81% blood pressure improvement or maintenance among those living with hypertension
In addition, employees with the highest diabetes risk (A1c >10%) saw a 5.9% drop after six months of program engagement. Others reached diabetes remission-level A1c, defined as falling below 6.5%.
For those living with prediabetes, 68% of participants lost weight, reducing the likelihood of disease progression.
Meeting employees where they are
Carhartt expanded benefits in January 2024 to include 24/7 Care and virtual Mental Healthcare support to address stigma and access challenges.
Employees now use Teladoc Health’s services to manage sleep, anxiety, grief, and other stressors, without leaving their homes or dealing with scheduling hurdles.
