Open enrollemnt tools for a seamless enrollment season

Open enrollment is just around the corner, and HR departments need to prepare to answer questions, correct issues and manage all of the other stress that comes with this time of year.

And the process isn’t easy for employees, either: Over half (61%) said the open enrollment process is either extremely or moderately stressful, according to an isolved report.

But HR pros have an added benefit that they may not be taking full advantage of: technology. Here are five of the best enrollment tools to help you handle open enrollment season without any additional stress.

Open enrollment tools to consider

HR technology can and should be a crucial part of your strategy. With the recent push for AI in the workplace and beyond, it’s more clear now than ever that a digital-first workplace is not going away. And open enrollment is no exception to the digital revolution.

There are plenty of open enrollment tools that HR pros can use to empower employees and take the stress off of your department.

1. ALEX

JellyVision’s enrollment tool, ALEX Benefits Counselor, helps employees make the right decisions about their benefits by providing personalized enrollment support throughout the enrollment process and beyond.

How it works: ALEX has one-on-one conversations with employees to determine their personalized needs. ALEX will ask employees questions about family needs, chronic conditions, financial situations and more to help gather information and determine the best benefits choices for them.

How it can help: ALEX acts as a 24/7, on-call benefits specialist for employees to help answer questions and walk them through different plans and give advice based on employees’ personalized needs. That’s less work for your HR team during an already chaotic time, plus better understanding for your employees – a win-win.

2. bswift

bswift is an end-to-end HR, payroll and benefits solution that features a benefits platform for employees to tackle enrollment with ease.

How it works: bswift’s benefits portal helps streamline and centralize the enrollment process, including benefits elections and education. The software prompts respondents with questions to inform the plan selection process, which is then transferred to a client team to find the best-fit plans. Their AI-powered decision-making enrollment tool, called “Ask Emma” can help answer questions for employees about benefits selection based on their unique needs, as well as integrated and national data.

How it can help: bswift is a straightforward, responsive solution that relies on technology and human-to-human interaction to give you the best of both worlds. Its data and analytics capabilities can help HR pros understand what employees need the most, leading to a streamlined, effective open enrollment season.

3. Namely

Namely is an all-in-one HR platform that handles everything from benefits to recruiting. Its benefits administration solution and enrollment tools simplify open enrollment with an enrollment wizard.

How it works: Namely’s software helps with every part of the open enrollment process with embedded support and an automated data flow. Benefits consultants can help answer questions and help employees navigate their options with tools like plan comparisons and employee and employer contribution displays. They also boast cost-saving billing and invoice reconciliation.

How it can help: Namely’s benefits administration solution can help with all parts of the open enrollment process. Their Plan Setup Assistant can configure and make changes to plans and their enrollment wizard ensures that employees have a centralized hub to find everything they need during the process. Plus, their dashboard offers data on employee enrollment statuses and allows you to send reminders to employees who haven’t made their selections yet.
