Rob leads the 401(k) Compliance team which is responsible for helping plans with ERISA compliance on Betterment’s recordkeeping platform. Rob and his team are subject matter experts on 401(k) plans and are responsible for day-to-day plan operations. Rob holds a Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). Before joining Betterment, he most recently worked as a defined contribution plan consultant at Willis Towers Watson. Rob graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a degree in Economics.

Account Executive, Betterment at Work
Russell Cloughen is a Senior Account Executive on the Betterment at Work 401(k) team. He works closely with small to medium-sized businesses that aim to ramp up their retirement benefits. He ensures that our potential clients are educated on our products and services while guiding them through these important decisions. Before joining Betterment in 2022, Russell spent the last ten years working to bring growth capital and financing solutions to businesses across many industries, especially e-commerce, retail, and professional services industries like doctors’ offices, law firms, and accounting firms.
Harlyn Kassardjian:
Head of Business Operations & Strategy, Betterment at Work
Harlyn Kassardjian is the Head of Business Operations & Strategy at Betterment at Work, where she builds sustainable processes and brings cross-functional strategy to life. Harlyn has worked at Betterment for 7 years and built out the 401(k) compliance and operations teams that support 401(k) plan sponsors and participants. Before joining Betterment, she worked at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, supporting ultra-high-net-worth families and select non-profit organizations. Harlyn graduated from Washington and Lee with a degree in finance and art history and holds Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.
