National Payroll Week 2026 Highlights Payroll’s Role in the Economy
Mark your calendar: National Payroll Week returns Sept. 7-11, 2026, to recognize the role payroll professionals play in making sure workers are paid accurately and on time.
The annual observance, founded by PayrollOrg in 1996, also highlights payroll’s broader role in the U.S. economy. Payroll-related collections account for about 66% of U.S. Treasury revenue, supporting programs including Social Security and Medicare.
National Payroll Week also promotes financial literacy through its Money Matters program, which provides financial education to teens.
Employers can access National Payroll Week resources to recognize payroll professionals and help employees better understand their paychecks.
